It was 2016 when I experienced my "body says no" moment. Crippled by symptoms of pain, I was soon unable to button a shirt or turn on a tap. After a drastic lifestyle change, my symptoms eased, but five years later I experienced burnout. "Why?" I asked myself, "Haven't I overcome this? How can I break this cycle?"
A dear friend recommended Mickel Therapy, which helped me care for my emotional health and break the cycle of good for a few years > burnout > good for a few years > burnout. The tools and techniques learned completed my recovery and will stay with me forever. My only wish is that I'd been equipped with these tools earlier in life, which is why Marc Brackett's mission resonates with me.
My intention was to train as a Mickel Therapist, which wasn't an option at the time. However, I was delighted to discover The MindBody Reconnect(MBR), founded by Clare Caldwell, who happened to be Head Practitioner and Head of Training at Mickel Therapy in 2012, until she departed to create The MindBody Reconnect in 2018.
Now as an MBR practitioner, I hope to share tools and techniques that can help others break the cycle of symptoms and live a happy, fulfilled, balanced life.
